This family oriented hike is an excellent introduction to the Burgess Shale on a relatively easy trail in Kootenay National Park. Hike through a fire swept forest to the base of Mount Stanley where you will find trilobite, brachiopod and sponge fossils way older than dinosaurs! You’ll even see the “Stan animal,” a 500 million year old predator recently discovered here!
