Canada's Coolest School Trip

About The Contest

Canada is a country that is full of rich history, diverse cultures and stunning landscapes that all merit conserving for the generations to come. For this year’s contest, participating classes must participate in a stewardship activity that contributes to the protection of the local environment or presentation of local history or culture.

Register Submit Voting Winners

Register online, and  participate in a conservation project that protects the local environment, history and/or culture.

Create a one-minute video about your conservation project and submit it.

Encourage your friends, family and community through local media or social media to vote for your video!

Your class might be the lucky winner of Canada’s Coolest School Trip or one of the other great prizes!

It's just that simple!

To be eligible to win any prizes, all the students in your class must plan, organize and participate in their conservation project for a minimum of 4 hours. This project must contribute to the protection of the local environment or presentation of local history or culture. Together, the class must create a video about their experience. The video must be at the most one-minute in length.

You must submit your video through your online account. Each grade 6, 7,8 and 9 / secondary 1, 2 and 3 class may submit only one video. It must be no longer than one-minute – anything longer than that will not be judged. A class can win only one prize.

Grand prize and runner-up prizes

Judging for the grand prize and runner-up prizes will take place in two stages. First, the top ten videos will be selected through public online voting. Then, a panel of judges will review the top ten along with five staff picks in order to select the grand prize winning video and the runner-up videos. You can view the rubric that will be used by the judging panel to grade your video here.

Remember that in order to get as many public votes as possible your video should be creative and catch the attention of voters!

Honourable mention prizes

Six honourable mentions will be awarded a prize. Winners will be selected by region. If a region is not represented within the short-listed fifteen (15) videos, winners will be selected at the discretion of the judges and may be chosen from all entries received or from any region.
